Monday Mumpreneur with Anita Albery
Every Monday we feature a mumpreneur who’s ready and willing to open up their lives to us. They share with us their motivation, challenges and proudest moments in business and they also tell us how they take time to nurture themselves. It’s lovely to have them here at Mums Got A Business and we hope you enjoy connecting with them too.
This week's featured business mum certainly gets her priorities right. She says "Being a good mum for your children is far more important than anything else." And we agree 🙂

Brief description: Just all the information you need about Cheeky Chimps Music plus a few extra links and bits and bobs that I am adding that I think parents might be interested in.
How many children do you have? 3 Children - Millie 11, Miles 8 and Tilda 2
Where do you live? Stambourne Village, Essex
PC or Mac? - most definitely MAC
Tell us about your business - A small business started from scratch six years ago. I run weekly pre-school music classes, visit toddler groups and pre-schools and I also entertain at children's birthday parties.
What motivated you to become a mumpreneur? - A desire to do something with my music and to work with children. I also needed to make a little bit of money.
What's been your biggest challenge in business? - The biggest challenge for me is TIME! My children always come first so often there is not enough time to really put the work into Cheeky Chimps that I would like to. However I have just about kept it all ticking along nicely. Every now and then I get too busy and have to shuffle things around a bit. My husband is a huge support to me and will always let me know when I am looking rather stressed and over busy.
How have you overcome it? - At the moment I haven't really. I hope by next September once my little one is at pre-school every morning I might be able to devote a bit more time to Cheeky Chimps. Until then ticking along will have to do. I must add - It is ticking along beautifully at this point in time and my classes have never been busier, which is fantastic!
What's been your proudest business moment? - SO many proud moments. One particular moment was listening to a little girl who was having trouble with her speech, sing 'twinkle twinkle little star' beautifully into my microphone. There were a few tears and I was so
touched and proud that my classes had helped her with her confidence, speech and singing.
What's your catchphrase or favourite quote? Keep it simple
What do you do to relax or nurture yourself? Read, take a bath, watch a film in bed with my lovely lovely husband.
What was the last treat you bought for yourself? Some makeup from the Body Shop
Favourite colour - Yellow
Favourite flowers - Tulips
What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur? - Never put your job before your children. Being a good mum for your children is far more important than anything else.
