Monday Mumpreneur with Karen Snyder

hospital

Every Monday we feature a mumpreneur who’s ready and willing to open up their lives and their business to us.

They share with us their motivation, their challenges and their proudest moments in business and they also tell us how they take time to nurture themselves.

If you’re looking for inspiration, then our featured business mums show you what’s possible.

This week's featured mumpreneur has set up a company that not only fulfils her secret desires to design her own product , but that said product has helped countless other mums to be.

I'm sure you'll agree that she's come up with a truly wonderful concept that helps alleviate anxiety from mums in labour ... a very worthwhile cause.

hbag2Tell us about your business:

I provide pre-packed hospital bags for pregnant women for their 48 hour stay in hospital. I offer mums a one stop shop at the click of a button that eliminates the anxiety of packing the hospital bag & contain 35 branded items, packed in a stylish reusable bag

What motivated you to become a mumpreneur?

When I was pregnant with Tami, I noticed how many mums panicked over what to pack in their hospital bags. As I decided not to return to my pre-pregnancy marketing job, I decided I was going to create a solution, the last thing pregnant ladies need is something else to worry about & myHospitalBag was born! I have always had a secret desire to create something myself!

What’s been your biggest challenge in business?

Apart from juggling work and kids, the biggest challenges is dealing with issues out with my control but I believe there is always a solution if you look hard enough

How have you overcome it?

I take a deep breath and focus, there is always a way round the biggest of problems!

What’s been your proudest business moment?

When I receive emails/calls from clients telling me how much they love the bags & post labour how useful the bags were & still are. It doesn't get much better than that, a truly lovely feeling

What’s your catchphrase or favourite quote?

There is always a solution to every problem

What do you do to relax or nurture yourself?

Chocolate, the gym and giggling with my friends

What was the last treat you bought for yourself?

I just turned 40 and thanks to my wonderful friends, I treated myself to a Chanel wallet!

Favourite flowers - Freesia

What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?
