Monday Mumpreneur with Susi Briggs

I’m delighted to introduce Susi Briggs, or Susi Sweet Pea to give her her full fairy title, from The Wee Folk Storytellers and Music Matters as our featured Monday Mumpreneur. She’s just like you and me and she’s ready and willing to share with us her motivation, her challenges and her proudest moments in business and also tell us how she takes time to nurture herself.

If you’re looking for inspiration, then our featured business mums show you what’s possible.

What motivated you to become a mumpreneur?

I wanted to pursue my dreams without compromising on my role as Mum. I can pick and choose what hours I put in and not have anxiety of answering to anyone else's call but my own,

What’s been your biggest challenge in business?

Pricing my time and balancing that with affordability of the services I provide.

How have you overcome it?

A friend once told me to use the 3 P rule. Before committing to a job ask yourself: Is it Paid? Is it an opportunity for Practice?  Is it an opportunity for good Promotion? If you can answer at least one with a yes then do it.

What’s been your proudest business moment?

There has been many. I think when I get positive feedback from my clients I feel incredibly satisfied.

What’s your catchphrase or favourite quote?

"If you can't change something, change how you look at it". Maya Angelou

What do you do to relax or nurture yourself?

Listen to music or have tea with a friend

What was the last treat you bought for yourself?

New headphones so I can listen to music when I'm on the move.

Favourite colour:  Turquoise
Favourite flowers: Sweet Peas (of course)
What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?

The 3 P model.....is the work worth doing? Paid Practice Promotion?
If yes..do it.
