Monday Mumpreneur with Beata Aghoson
Every Monday we feature a mumpreneur who’s ready and willing to open up their lives to us. They share with us their motivation, challenges and proudest moments in business and they also tell us how they take time to nurture themselves. It’s lovely to have them here at Mums Got A Business and we hope you enjoy connecting with them too.
This week's featured mumpreneur is Beata. She has an inspiring story and I love what she wrote on her blog about the effect her daugter Efe has had on her decision to set up her own business:
"My main inspiration is my daughter, Efe (2008). Since she was born I feel like I am a different person and she motivates me to be able to achieve my dreams, simply because I would like to give her the best." ~ how lovely is that! Please give her a warm welcome
Your name: Beata Aghoson

Brief description: Online store of stylish handcrafted jewellery. Each piece is unique and created with lots of love.
How many children do you have? Efe 3 and a half

Tell us about your business: I'm a jewellery designer, who designs and creates unique handcrafted jewellery from polymer clay. I find it very important to create something unique as everyone is different and deserves to show this with their wardrobe and accessories.
What motivated you to become a mumpreneur? I used to be a PA back home in Hungary, and had to work in the factory when I came to the UK. I never liked working for someone, because I'm a perfectionist and it didn't feel right to give my best and not getting more payment or even a thank you for my work. When I had my daughter I decided that I
wanted to start something on my own, to be my own boss and do something I love. This is how my journey began.... : )
What's been your biggest challenge in business? I'm afraid I'm just facing my biggest challange. After the first half year of my business I had some difficulties in my personal life and that meant I could not focus on my business as I did before. It feels like I'm just starting,
but will get there again, hopefully. : )
How have you overcome it? My plan to overcome it is to work even harder than last year, creating even more special products. In fact I just launched my Autumn/Winter 2011-12 Collection, which cooperates my artistic side into jewellery making. I have hand-painted each piece individually, which means you can wear an original piece of art as your jewellery.
What's been your proudest business moment? When I sold my very first item in the Gift Gallery York, which is a lovely Gallery in the heart of York for unique handcrafted items.
What's your catchphrase or favourite quote? It's never too late to make your life happen.
What do you do to relax or nurture yourself? Snuggle up on the sofa with a good book, coffee and chocolate
What was the last treat you bought for yourself? thermal vests, I love them : )
Favourite colour: Orange
Favourite flowers: Tulips
What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?
Never give up your dreams! : )

I love mumprenuer! Through this site I found Lyn Blackledge who promotes wightbuzz. It is so inspirational and also supportive.
Here’s the pitch! I am a mum and grandmum and after many years of full-time teaching/foster carer/Brownie and Guide leader. I had to face redundancy in my 50’s.
So I turned a long-time hobby(30 years) into a business. I am a tarot reader but after researching I decided to enter the fast-growing tarot party sector. I do ladies nights, hen nights, dinner parties etc.
Why not look at my site and see what I do! I’d love to be a Monday Mumpreneur!
