Monday Mumpreneur with Karina Ladet

FunWithKidsEvery Monday we feature a mumpreneur just like you and me who’s ready and willing to open up their lives and their business to us.

They share with us their motivation, their challenges and their proudest moments in business and they also tell us how they take time to nurture themselves.

If you’re looking for inspiration, then our featured business mums show you what’s possible.

This week's featured business mum teaches us not to wait for the perfect time to start our business, but to just take the leap and all the support will be there for us and that miracles really do happen.

Your name: Karina Ladet

Tell me about your children:

My son Gabriel is 7 and my daughter Lou Kalliste 4. They are both fun, loving and sensitive children and I'm so fortunate to be their mom.

Where do you live?

In a tiny village in the South of France

PC or Mac?

PC but I would love to have a Mac again

Tell us about your business

I'm a channel and intuitive and I offer Intuitive Readings and Intuitive Coaching on Skype and by e-mail and also teach lovely people how to communicate with their spirit guides online and during live workshops in France, Sweden, Belgium and Australia.

I started my business 2 years ago and it has been such an incredible journey. I love what I do and it makes me so happy to support other people (mostly women) to live their lives to the fullest. I believe that we are all intuitive and that it's possible for all of us to live our Dream Lives. In order to do this we need to connect with our inner voice and open up to all the support that surrounds us. I also believe that we all have spirit guides and angels who are there to help us and guide us on the right path for us. In the end it's all about getting very still and listening to the guidance that is already there. I know that this is possible for everyone and love supporting people who are trying to find their way back to this connection.

What motivated you to become a mumpreneur?

I'm such an independent and intuitive spirit and I didn't enjoy working for a French boss ; ). I also knew that I wanted to have a business on my own terms so that I could create the right balance between my work, family and me time. It's so wonderful to show my children that work can be so much fun and be so inspiring and flexible. I can work from home and travel to teach my retreats when it fits my needs and my family's. How awesome is that?

What’s been your biggest challenge in business?

Honestly, the biggest challenge for me was to actually start my business. It took me 11 years of waiting for the perfect time, not feeling ready and so many other excuses before I finally took the leap. Everything that has come up since then has been easier than that first big challenge.

How have you overcome it?

One day I decided it was time and I started. I've been able to go back and tweak my offers, my website and everything else afterwards. When I finally started so much support showed up in my life, both people and opportunities, and I've been constantly learning and growing since then.

What’s been your proudest business moment?

When I was holding a Spirit Guide Connection retreat in Kuranda, Australia, in November last year. Taking in the whole experience of having found a way to create two retreats in Australia and to bring my family with me for a whole month of exploring and enjoying such an amazing country brought tears to my eyes. This was such a magical moment and I know so many people were with me, both physically at the retreat and also following me online. I felt SO supported and knew in my heart without a doubt that I was at the exactly right place at the right time.

What’s your catchphrase or favourite quote?

Miracles happen every day. It's such a great reminder that a situation or relationship can shift in one split second. I love that about life!

What do you do to relax or nurture yourself?

I go for a long walk in the mountains where I live, climb a tree and hug it for a long time or get a massage.

What was the last treat you bought for yourself?

A crystal bracelet created by the lovely Alex at Violet Gray in Australia

Favourite colour:  Purple!

Favourite flowers: White lilies and purple lilacs (I can't choose!)

What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?

You are an amazing woman and mother. The gifts you have come to share with the world are so precious and only YOU can do this in your unique way. It's ok to be afraid and feel like you are not enough sometimes. Know that you are on the right path and the perfect support is there for you if you ask for it. Hold that vision and give yourself what you need to bring it to life.
