Riana

Hi Riana, welcome to Mum's Got a Business ...

Tell me about your children:

I have a 1 year old baby girl, Opal. I think she is tired of me already and could use a sibling or two, but I am not ready for that yet!

Where do you live?

I live in Provo, Utah

PC or Mac?

Mac all the way!!!

Tell us about your business

I am a web and graphic designer. I hope to help a lot of mom-clients with my services!

What motivated you to become a mumpreneur?

There is a stereotype of women who have babies here where I live that once they have a baby, they'll never do something 'awesome' with their lives except for raising children.

1. I know that is a load of BS!

2. I am doing all the awesome things to show those people that the stereotype isn't true!

What’s been your biggest challenge in business?

STARTING! I only just launched August 1st, and I am definitely learning on the go. It is exciting and scary at the same time.

How are you overcoming it?

I've accepted that I'm going to fail here and there. Rather than letting that failure kick me down for good, I'm going to let those failures be great teaching opportunities and moments of growth.

What’s been your proudest business moment?

Seeing that all of the work I have put into marketing has WORKED, and most of my clients are people who have heard of me or found me, and not just friends and family!

What’s your catchphrase or favourite quote?

"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing." Dale Carnegie

What do you do to relax or nurture yourself?

Go outside!!! Bike, hike, walk, or swim. Those are my favorite things!

What was the last treat you bought for yourself?

Some wonderful products from Lush cosmetics, and a caramel apple 🙂

Favourite colour:

Blush pink! Always my favorite.

Favourite flowers:

Scratch the flower, I'll tell you my favorite plant at the moment. Monstera!

What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?

If you follow unsolicited advice rather than your gut, you're going to have a bad time. In both motherhood AND business. Every situation is different for every baby/mom/business/mumpreneur. Trust your gut, seek help or advice when needed, and keep working hard!
