Monday Mumpreneur with Stefanie from Business Fun Factory
On Mondays we feature a mumpreneur just like you and me who’s ready and willing to open up their lives and their business to us.
They share with us their motivation, their challenges and their proudest moments in business and they also tell us how they take time to nurture themselves.
If you’re looking for inspiration, then our featured business mums show you what’s possible.
This week's mumpreneur is using her experience to help other biz mums from making the same mistakes as her.
Your name: Stefanie
Tell me about your children:
I have got a cute little baby girl aged two. She is the best that ever happened to me in my life.
Where do you live?
Vienna, Austria (but moving soon to Bogota, Colombia)
PC or Mac? PC
Tell us about your business:
My passion is to do business. I love the world of entrepreneurship and the energy behind. My first business failed completely and I turned out to be broke. Now I help other women to set up their own business without resulting having a big minus on their bank account.
I am convinced that everybody has a unique gift to offer to this world. Everybody who has found their real passion and wants to be independent can do that. Sometimes it just lacks a little bit of “kick in the a..” So, I help women to find their real passion and show them how they can turn that passion into a real business that makes money.
What motivated you to become a mumpreneur?
I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it; that I can build something from my knowledge and experience. I wanted to have a self determined life (as far as my daughter lets me) and I don’t wanna ask for sick leave when my baby girl is ill and needs me. But most important I am convinced that everybody can turn their dream into a business. My motivation is to motivate and guide women towards a life with more fun and freedom.
What’s been your biggest challenge in business?
TIME. In the beginning of my business I still had my 9-5 job. And I had my baby girl. So, I had to work at night. In the weekend I wanted to dedicate all my time to my girl. So there was not much left. I decided to make something out of the time I have got.
I think that is so important for every business women or every mum who wants to start a business. Don’t find excuses but search for solutions. Try to make the best out of what you have got. It will not bring you any further to complain but only to get out of your comfort zone and just do it.
How have you overcome it?
Time is still an issue. However I am doing better and better in finding more time for my business and myself.
What’s been your proudest business moment?
The first day of my business. The moment when I finally was sure what kind of business I wanna have. I just started out right away.
What’s your catchphrase or favourite quote?
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started” by Mark Twain
What do you do to relax or nurture yourself?
I go for a run and do some work out. I love to sweat because it’s like all negative thoughts come out and only positive energy stays.
What was the last treat you bought for yourself?
A new PC and I love it.
Favourite colour:
Pink
Favourite flowers:
Sunflowers
What one piece of advice would you like to give to a new mumpreneur?
Find your real passion, start now, don’t spend too much money and have fun in life. I have learned that you can start a business with almost zero investment. You can do a great website all by your own; if you don’t know how, just google or youtube it.
